Objective

Summary

Master of Coin
Ah Adventurer, your timing could not be better! Have you met The Artisan yet? New guy, over by the general store.

I thought he seemed familiar, so I did a little digging. It turns out he's the famed... He's the famed artisan—drat, not in earshot of The Steward, Adventurer. I can't tell you his name—I wish I could—if only I could! His work is lauded the world over, he's established guilds in countless trades, everything he touches might as well turn to gold.

And he's here! Right here. This is a gold mine, or it would be if he'd listen to a word I say. The mule insists he's just a bumpkin who's handy with a hammer. You lead a group of skilled artisans, maybe he'll listen to you.

Convince him to put his skills to use beyond just mending fences and we could be set for life!

Steps

  • Speak to the Artisan
  • Return to the Master of Coin
  • Return to the Artisan

Dialogue

  • I'm here on the Master of Coin's behalf.
The Artisan
That woman is relentless. I'll tell you exactly what I told the harpy: I'm not who she thinks I am, I'm just an old man with a toolbox.

Now if you'll excuse me, I offered to help The Builder with some fence repairs.

  • I'll tell her, but she won't give up that easily.
The Artisan
I've no doubt you're right about that. Look, The Steward has been more than accommodating, and I'd very much like to stay, but unchecked that woman will drive me mad.

The Builder tells me you're a competent craftsman, and that you've many and more under your employ. I imagine that's why the harpy sent you. None of that changes that I can't be someone I'm not. But I have travelled a bit, picked a few tricks up here and there. Convince the harpy to leave me be and I'll teach you what I know.

  • That seems fair, I'll see if I can't convince her.

Completion

Master of Coin
He's going to give you lessons?

Hmm... I'll admit, it's not what I had in mind but it is a clear step up from my spurned advances. Alright, so be it. I'll give him peace, for now. You just keep working on cracking that nut.

You're the envy of the crafting world now Adventurer, take those lessons to heart.
