Ratings are integer values that directly increases the player's Total Rating Percent. Total Rating Percent has a hard cap of 90%, meaning that the individual statistic is 90% effective. However, Ratings can only contribute a maximum of 50% to this total percent. This 50% maximum is contributed when the character's Rating is equal to or above the character's Total Item Level.
This percent contribution is reduced by 1% for each 1,000 below the character's Total Item Level their Rating is. For example, if a player has 37,000 Total Item Level and has a Power rating of 33,500, they will have a 46.5% (based on the 3,500 deficit of Power rating) base contribution to their Power Total Rating Percent.
Ratings provide a more clear comparison for character's builds, like their gear, enchantments, boons and insignias.
