Awls are Leatherworking Assets that can be acquired as necessary components for completion of rare Leatherworking tasks from profession levels 8 to 13 and/or as optional components that will improve the chances of producing leather armor segments of greater quality (tier) for the Trickster Rogue.
A [Worn Awl] may be purchased for 50 from M'tari Prin'tal in Protector's Enclave (North corner of the Seven Suns Coster Market). Awls of higher tiers may be acquired from profession booster packs and asset packs purchased in the Zen store. Awls are not bound and may be traded on the Auction House or transferred between players.
A task requiring an Awl as an asset will take any tier of Awl in its slot. Higher tiered Awls serve only to improve chances of producing higher tiered armors.
At Profession Level 3, 4 [Iron Awl] can be upgraded to produce [Steel Awl].
At Profession Level 4, 4 [Steel Awl] can be upgraded to produce [Mithral Awl].
There is no task that will allow [Worn Awl] to become [Iron Awl].
