Brendon Canter - Mount Merchant

Mounts are creatures or animals that you can ride to gain increased movement speed. The ability to ride mounts is gained at level 20 and introduced with the quest Giddy Up!.

The default key to call the mount for all new characters created is 7. Prior to Patch NW.10.20131120a.14 that introduced the Hunter Ranger class and Artifacts, the default key to call the mount was 6. For characters created prior the aforementioned patch, the key to call the mount remains 6.

Mounts can be purchased for 5 Gold, or by trade using Astral DiamondAstral Diamonds, Tarmalune Trade BarTarmalune Trade Bars, Ardent CoinsArdent Coins or ZenZen. However those available with Astral Diamonds or Zen will tend to be more exotic in rarity. Mounts purchased with gold may prove expensive however over the most accessible route within game. A player should be able to obtain 5 Gold by level 22 when partaking in various dungeon events. The Adventurer's Reward IV box gives 3x Mount Requisition Token (which are awarded as a character levels) that allows the character to rent a mount for 5 hours of in game time. The mounts bought with Zen are unlocked for the whole account and can be reclaimed by every character via the Zen mount vendor (the price shows as 'free'); however, only once per character.

[edit] Ranks

Each mount has 3 different ranks which affect movement speed. These affect how much damage or hits (within a specific time) can be taken before falling off. The level also affects the mount's appearance. Mounts can be leveled up in exchange for Astral Diamonds via purchasing Mount Training II for 768,000 Astral Diamond or Mount Training III for 2,064,000 Astral Diamond. [Mount Training II] must be used before using [Mount Training III] if you have a Rank 1 Mount.

  1. Rank 1 via Giddy Up! Quest Reward - Increases movement speed by 50%. PC is dismounted if they suffer 3 hits in 5 seconds, or lose 10% or more of their hitpoints in a single attack.
  2. Rank 2 via [Mount Training II] - Increases movement speed by 80%. PC is dismounted if they suffer 4 hits in 5 seconds, or lose 12% or more of their hitpoints in a single attack.
  3. Rank 3 via [Mount Training III] - Increases movement speed by 110%. PC is dismounted if they suffer 5 hits in 5 seconds, or lose 15% or more of their hitpoints in a single attack.

[edit] Temporary Mounts

At Level 20 you receive 3x Mount Requisition Token from a Adventurer's Reward IV and you may trade this for one of two Temporary mounts from the Mount Merchant in Protector's Enclave. These mounts last for five hours of play time.
